Come Play With Us at the New Thousand Oaks Park Tot Lot!

The new tot lot at Thousand Oaks Park is officially open for play!  Our grand opening ceremony, with a "throwing in of the sand toys" by all those in attendance, was the perfect complement to the amazing, sunny, fall day!  The new tot lot has already become a favorite meeting place for playgroups and many new friendships have been formed among tots in the neighborhood who now have a "local hangout"!

The Thousand Oaks Park Society wants to generously thank Berkeley Partners for Parks, The City of Berkeley, Berkeley Unified School District, and the many local businesses and park friends including Andronico's, Berkeley Hills Realty, Red Oak Realty, Ira and Carol Serkes/Remax Realtors, Ronald McDonald Charities, Thousand Oaks Neighborhood Association, Zelda Bronstein, Sarah Butler, Nancy Carleton, Liana Thomason, G.J. Stillson-McDonnell, and the Swett Family for their generous support and contributions in helping to create this playground for our children.  Many, many volunteers were part of this effort, and to each and every one we extend a sincere thank you!

Although we are technically finished with the tot lot, the new and returning park users have already voiced opinions on other park issues.   To facilitate action on these ideas, the Thousand Oaks Park Society held a meeting on October 30 to organize park users and neighbors and help them formulate a "phase two" of park improvements!  More meetings will be held, and anyone interested in the park should check out the BPFP web site or leave a message at 510-526-5999 to get on our mailing list.
